LiS™: Latinos in Sports (LiS) and Hispanic Executive joined forces for a powerful digital cover story spotlighting Mexican flag football superstar Diana Flores. This marks an exciting collaboration that celebrates Latina leadership in sports.
As part of Hispanic Executive’s 2025 Leading Latinas series, this special feature highlights Flores’s journey from an ambitious eight-year-old in Mexico City to captain and quarterback of the World Champion Mexican National Flag Football team—and one of the sport’s most prominent global ambassadors.
The cover story—“Diana Flores Builds the Future of Global Sport”—explores her rise as a role model in a game dominated by boys, her dedication to mentoring young athletes, and her vision for growing the sport worldwide. The full feature is now live on HispanicExecutive.com.

“That’s how I fell in love with the game, by seeing the passion these women had on the field,” Flores tells Hispanic Executive. “Flag football gave me the opportunity to be my true self, to be competitive, driven, and fearless.”
Flores never had flag football role models growing up. Today, she embraces her responsibility to be that figure for the next generation of athletes—Latina and non-Latina alike.
“Sports has the power to change lives. I know that because it has definitely changed mine,” she shares, “and I’ve seen the impact it has had on the talented young athletes I mentor.”
The cover shoot and interview were captured during the Latinos in Sports March convening at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where Flores met with both the LiS and Hispanic Executive teams. The university’s campus provided a fitting backdrop for a conversation rooted in personal growth, purpose, and the future of sport on the global stage.

From representing her country at the World Games and being named MVP to starring in the NFL’s Emmy-winning “Run With It” commercial, Flores’s journey continues to break boundaries. In 2024, she was honored on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, People en Español’s “25 Más Poderosas,” and named to the second annual Latinos in Sports list.
