TMJ, a leading Hispanic-owned women’s soccer agency, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sara Toussaint as co-CEO and head of Catalyst, TMJ’s newly established commercial division, effective January 1, 2025. Current CEO Guillermo Zamarripa will continue to lead TMJ’s agent division.
“Over the last ten years, cofounders Guillermo Zamarripa and Oscar Gonzalez have built TMJ into a leading agency representing women’s football talent from all over the world and I’m deeply, deeply, deeply honored that they invited me to join them in the next stage of TMJ’s growth,” Toussaint said in a LinkedIn post about her new role. “For the past seven years, I’ve seen first-hand how much the TMJ team cares about their athletes’ professional and personal well-being, how they always encourage using their platforms for good, and how much they cultivate relationships with PEOPLE and brands in meaningful projects.”
A trailblazer in the sports industry, Toussaint brings over twenty years of experience spanning Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, the Mexican National Team, and more. Her leadership in sponsorships and partnership marketing, including her time at Wells Fargo and Soccer United Marketing, has been widely recognized, earning her a spot on the inaugural Latinos in Sports’ list in 2020. She also co-owns the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League.
Born in Puerto Rico to Puerto Rican and Palestinian parents and raised in Chicago’s La Villita, Toussaint holds an MBA from NYU and a BA from the University of Chicago. She is a founding board member of Latinx in Sports, a nonprofit driving Latinx representation in the industry.
Catalyst will focus on innovative commercial opportunities, and under Toussaint’s leadership, it is poised to transform TMJ’s impact in the global sports ecosystem.
Toussaint recently spoke at the Alumni Society’s Leadership Summit 2024 with McKinsey & Co.’s Ann Rodriguez and sports journalist Greydy Diaz, where the trio shared actionable wisdom for Latinas looking to make their own impact in the world of sports.
